Our new granddaughter is going to be a girl. Our daughter is due in May so I have some time to make this quilt

Would you like to help design borders? My mother (age 89) just embroidered this for her but it is up to me to finish it. I would love suggestions.

It's pretty light I'm hoping these pictures show up.

    Congrats. :)

The border thought that comes to mind is solid colors of baby colored fabrics that match the embroidery, and then sew the blocks together around the quilt. Nice and simple so that all of your mom's work will really pop. You might even take the leap and try flannels so it will be super soft as well.

That's beautiful! If it's big enough (can't tell size from the picture), but you could just leave border off and quilt it.

Congratulations! Your mother did a beautiful job with the embroidery. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.

May be a really soft(pale) pink/white small check.
You don't want anything that is going to take away the focus from the beautiful embroidery.

I think a white eyelet ruffle would be pretty and enhance the motif and be girly all at the same time. C
