I hope there will be plenty of tissues available when you give it to her.

You did an awesome job. The idea is awesome, as well.

Reminds me of a book I had as a child . The girls name was Josie and her Grandma made a quilt out of her dresses with each dress having a story about what happened to her when she wore it.

How fantastic is that??? She'll be able to be wrapped in her mothers arms and snuggled by her warmth for years to come. That is so cool.

I can't agree more. After my Mom died, I took her cotton dresses and made grandmother fan blocks, used the lace trims and I made each of her grandchildren and my sisters pillows for their bed. Only thing was, I forgot to make myself one!! Your quilt is beautiful, I can't begin to tell you how seeing it touched my heart. Your friend is going to be thrilled and yes, the tears wilkl probably flow.

She is just going to love it! Great job!

Thanks again to all of you. You are so generous with your remarks. You all have inspired me to take the extra scraps from this project and I think I have time to make her a lap quilt as well. One that she can carry around with her to snuggle in. The one I did is a queen size so a little smaller one might just be the side kick she can use more freely.
You all are just so inspiring! Thanks!
