    I have done the 2nd one also- mine were 1" squares for the 4 patch.

    Both are very stunning, but the 2nd one really catches my eye! Wow, you put a lot of work into both. Amazing. I'm doing something like it from Kim Diehl's Simple Comforts, mine will have applique around the borders.
