What a wonderful story, and what a beautiful quilt. You're both very lucky.

Absolutely, positively the right decision to give him the quilt. What a very special memory you have of not only the time spent together, but the joy he'll have receiving the quilt.

I would have done the same thing. Our Children are our heritage and so is our quilting. What an awsome story of you and your son. Loved it too.

OMGoodness!!!!! Your quilt is absolutely stunning!!!!!!! Reading your post brought tears to my eyes!! What a great son you have to appreciate your passion. He expressed so very well one of the reasons we make quilts. Whenever I look at the quilts I have that were made by my grandmothers, I always think of them. I wasn't there when they made them, but their spirit and their love is stitched into every single thread in those quilts!!! ;) ;) He sees your spirit and your love in this beautiful quilt, and it will ALWAYS be a treasure to him!
