These are my D9P blocks for the King quilt I'm making for our bed.
I have over 20 blocks. I don't know if I should frame each block or connect them. If I frame each block I'm not sure what color would work. I want it to be soft and soothing but not yellow. The fabrics are almost exclusively from the Portugal line by April Cornell for Moda. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
    Hugs, Sue

I would frame using a creamy beige or my favorite would be something that picks up the blue. I think the blue would REALLY make it pop, but be soft at the same time.

I think I would be tempted to frame them since the fabrics are a little busy....Maybe an off white....I love the colors and the fabrics. It is going to be beautiful no matter how you do it!!

I just read more carefully. I actually like what you have UNframed, so I would consider joining the squares without a frame. Pretty fabrics!

I like the riot of color and when you put the blocks right next to each other then you get what looks like L shapes and other unusual shapes and people wonder how you put those odd shapes together. I like to keep them guessing.

I would frame them in beige or soft blue. That way they would not be so busy and color added would make it more soothing.

If you have any yardage in your stash I would audition what it would look like with sashing by laying out the blocks on the larger piece of fabric leaving a small amout of the bottom fabric peeking. If you can hang it up on a design board or wall you can look at it from different angles and lighting to give you a sense of what it would look like. I do that and leave it out for a while to see if I really like it or not. BTW I am just finishing up a top made with that same line of fabrics.I don't usually like florals but these ones called to me.
