Default Quilt from my Stash

These quilts were both made from my stash. The Christmas quilt top was made by my 85y/o mother during our first ice/snow storm of the season in December. I did the quilting on my TinLizzie sitdown machine. This quilt will be a 50th anniversary gift for a special couple that were neighbors while I was growing up in WV.
The Scrap Happy quilt was made from my scrap bag. Each block is made of 64 two inch squares of lights and darks alternatively. This quilt is going to be finished for a March wedding gift

Nice scraps you have! Great to hear your 85 y/o DM is still quilting. I hope that's me in 20 years!

Great quilts. How wonderful that your mother is still able to piece quilt tops.

Really like both quilts. Give your Mom a hug for me. Wish I could hug my Mom. It's great that you both quilt. Love your scrappy. Is your shashing also 2"? Gooks like a good project for me. BrendaK

They are both beautiful! If your mom doesn't read forums, please tell her we all want to be like her at 85!

Brenda,
The inner sashing is 2 inches with 2 inch cornerstone.
The outer sashing is 2 1/2 inches for the white on while and 5 1/2 of the print.
Thanks for the hugs. I am visiting her in WV next week and will be sure and pass them on.

Both are very pretty! I agree with everyone on how wonderful it is that your Mother still pieces quilts. Add a hug from me when you go see her!
