    So cute to witness the kids enjoying their adorable quilts. The book quilt would have been a great one for my grand daughter and even my mom would have loved the doxie quilt. We had one when I was growing up.

    I saw the patterns for the open book and put them in my list - and have even started to gather some odd fabric for covers.. Yours turned out beautifully -

    Thanks for all the kind words. The book pattern is Book Nerd by Angela Pingel and it is paper pieced. I used some fabric with words and lined it up so it looks like type on the page but only on some of the blocks since it was far more time consuming (and nerve racking). The label says "Layla's Library' which is my DGD's name.

    The dog pattern is Dogs in Sweaters by Elizabeth Hartman, also partially paper pieced. My DGS has a Dachsund so it was perfect for him.
