I think the border is overwhelming the dresden.....you want viewers to focus on the dresden and the border is pulling your eye away from it.

I would definitely change the border. It is really cool for the right project, but I don't think it accentuates the Dresden very well.

I agree that the border does nothing for the beautiful centre. try something that will pick up the colours in the centre

Your border is great, but not on this beautiful dresden plate. It looks good to the navy around it, then the other colors draw attention away from the center plate. Try making your colors blend more by picking up some of the colors in the dresden plate prints. They don't have to be plain fabrics, but use some of those colors.

Nothing goes together. The dresden plate doesn't go with dragons, the green and blue border does go with anything, and the flower in the middle does to with dragons or border or dresden plate. I would finish it as a cuddle quilt and give it away, choose different fabrics and start all over.

The borders do seem a bit off.....maybe something less dramatic...more dreamy and lighter in color?

I agree with sandybeach. All the components are nice and well done...they just don't compliment each other. A different border should help. I love the dresden.

I agree...the border is too busy. The green needs to be muted...maybe switch to the color of the dresden mixed with the Navy? ...Actually, I'd go with a plain Navy border, or the light blue. You want that center to pop, as it's so pretty!!
