    Exclamation Summer Scrappies - X quilt mini tut @ post #15, 35-38

Last summer my friend Linda sent me lots of scraps from the LQS (thanks again, Linda!) so I finally got around to using a stack of 3" squares this summer and made a Double Irish Chain! I love those quilts! I especially loved the fab of the sombrero and you'll see it in the close up pics.

I also came up with a great idea on another scrappy that I just call my X quilt because the blocks form what looks like an "X" pattern. Here are pics of that quilt!

Then I made a zigzag quilt in the spring and loved it so much that I made another one so this is Ziggy #2. Some close ups are included too.

Then I also made what I call a "Split Rail Fence" quilt where you randomly sew miles of strips, chop them and join it all together alternating the blocks from laying down or sitting upright. My favorite thing to do with strips! Here are pics of that quilt.

These are all for charity and special thanks to all my quilting friends supplying me with their scraps as well as lots of mine too! It all makes for an interesting looking quilt! The more, the better! Enjoy! n2

My only goal for Ziggy #2 was the use of lots of yellow. Here it is:

I love scrappy quilts and am ga-ga over the X quilt. All are great but that one sings to me. I would love to borrow that pattern. Are you willing to share the recipe?

I can see it is SQs and HSTs. What are the dimensions? Is the 4 x 9P made with 3"sqs?

    I love this pattern.
