Default White - Super 30 Deluxe

Thought I would share. Found this White - Super 30 - Deluxe the other day. It appears to be in really good condition and with a little oil I was able to make my first couple successful sews over the last week. I had originally picked it up to do some light to medium duty upholstery work. Paid $60, given the condition, even came with a manual. The drop feed also works well, especially for thicker and layered material. Didn't find out until later that these models are kind of a dime a dozen, copied after the Singer 15-30, but a lot of good information out there. I will try to post a few more pictures later.

I have one almost exactly like yours but mine is badged "Capri". I LOVE mine. Something about the blue/green machines that attracts me. Is this your first vintage machine?

Well, she sure is pretty! As far as the 'dime a dozen' remark, think about what you would have to pay for a sewing cabinet with a custom insert for any machine. Or even a Sew Steady plexiglass extension. Your money was well spent.

Thank you for the comments. This is my first collectible and have enjoyed getting to know how the machine works. I am still figuring out the details to get a good, reliable stitch with the proper thread. I know there are limits, but my hope is to be able to use a #20 needle with #69 polyester thread for vinyl work (2-4 layers).

I really ended up taking a liking to these older machines and their functionality. I also just bought a Singer 15-91 that is mechanically gear driven. I ended up doing a quick Google search on Craigslist for the 15-91 and there was one not too far from me and about 5 minutes away from my father. He looked at it this morning and appeared to be in excellent working condition and well kept. The seller knew he had a good machine and was firm at $80, no table, just a case.

So, I just went for it and now have two machines.
