I had posted a while back looking for batik pattern suggestions, but wanted to finally include a picture. I wasn't sure if anyone see it on the old post, so sorry if I screwed up doing this!

Also, I have included a few yard sale finds and could use suggestions on the baby quilt :)

    Antique Iron $3 and 2y fabric $.25 :)

    Vintage Baby Quilt $3

Should I take the blocks apart? Stitching is not so nice..

Is the entire quilt whip stitched like that or just part of it? That would be a lot of restitching but if the fabric is in good shape it would probably be worth it. Is it quilted?

I like the original primitive look (the stitches).

We always want things to "look nice", many years a quilt was made for warmth. I guess depends on how you want to use it. I have 3 quilts made for me by my mothers 90+ year old neighbor. She hand stitched all three, a twin, full and queen. The stitches are quite uneven, but the work that went into it is unbelievable.

Unless you're planning on using it, no, leave it be. The stitches may not be up to the standards of many, but someone was once proud of that quilt!

I would leave it just the way it is. I treasure the things that other people just kick to the curbside. I think about all the time this woman spent stitching this and it makes me want to cherish it like her family should have.

Leave it just how you found it. Its a treasure and should be cherished.

That's a treasure. Instead of redoing THAT quilt, I'd find fabrics with that "flavor" and create a fraternal twin. ;)

I think I would leave it as is. Gives it plenty of character.

This looks to me that a child did the sewing. I would not change it, Just mho.
