Another 5 star recipe from a great cookbook in OK!

Crispy Candy Bars

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup syrup: light, dark or pancake syrup
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- 6 ounces chocolate chips
- 6 ounces butterscotch chips

1) In a large saucepan, combine sugar and syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat; add peanut butter. Mix well.

2) Add Rice Krispies; stir with a spoon until cereal is well coated. Press into a well-buttered 9x13-inch pan.

3) In warm oven or microwave, melt together the chocolate and butterscotch chips. Stir until well blended.

4) Spread over top of candy. Chill until topping is set. Cut in squares or serve as cookies!

* The candy does not require refrigeration after topping has hardened. You may want to cut just what will be eaten at that time (or the whole thing!). If you use them as cookies, use 2/3 cup for each type of chips. It will make a thinner topping and require more spreading.

Have fun w/this one!! :D :D

In my case, it would be the whole thing. I would eat it all in one sitting. It sounds yummy. Thanks for sharing.

Hahahahhaha!!! In my case, there's never leftover desserts!!! I would eat the whole thing at once!!! I had to laugh when I got to that part of the recipe 'you may want to cut just what will be eaten' hahaha and add my own reality!!!! hahaha!!! KathyAire, I think you and I have the same idea as everyone else -- we would eat it all in one sitting!!
