    Default Crushing tip

A tip from my dd - needed to crush some candy canes- she said freeze for a few minutes.....well I'm in Illinois, midwinter, so I just put them in a dish out in the garage...about 10 minutes, brought them, put in plastic bag, and a few hits with mallet and perfect crushed mints...most probably know this, but I thought maybe a few may not......

Are you putting them in cookie dough? I have trouble with my cookies sticking to the pan when I do that.

How I WISH Brachs still made those powder-filled peppermint straws/candies!!! They gave cookies and candies such a better flavor with that little bit of peppermint powder. Can't find them anywhere exactly like they used to be...not even Vermont Country Store.

No, I found a recipe on Pinterest for what is called Christmas crack- for guild potluck.......well if anyone does this...unless you want to share with the whole neighborhood...cut that recipe in half....it was ok, messy, and I have lots of leftovers...I even provided sandwich zip locks for potluckers to take some home....I've got to stop cruisin' pinterest!

Oh that Christmas Crack recipe is deadly and oh so good! I made it last year and we had too much too! My 18 year old asked me not to make it this year.

How about using parchment paper, if any paper sticks it can be scraped off with a knife, if really stuck on.

I use parchment paper with all my cookie baking, I also use Andes Peppermint Crunch chips for Christmas baking and now they have disappeared from the shelves! ugh! Having a hard time finding Spanish peanuts too.

Previous years (I haven't been able to go shopping this year) Dollar General carried those kinda powdery peppermint stix. I'm not sure of the brand but they were tasty. You might try there this year.
