I always find one here in my area at a good price but I always pass on it as I don't have anymore space left in my garage to put the table.

I just saw one in either the Portland or Seattle Craig's List. It was some crazy price like $900 for it. Wow!
Every bit as bad as a penguin but harder to store.

That's crazy. I could see that maybe for an original cabinet but not a table. I sold my 301 table for almost 3 times what I paid for it and it still didn't pay for the Jones.

Sellers get confused some times - the cabinet will sell for around $1000, but the card table is usually under $250, and sometimes quite a bit less.

I was very happy to get my cabinet with machine (no case) for $1000, and it was one of the first with the lift. I picked up the FW card table for $25 but it is missing the insert.

I also only have kept a few tables. Some I put at the end of the driveway with a "free" sign. Others I posted on Craigslist as "free". People paint them and sell them.
I have kept a few of the nicer ones, meaning interesting or really vintage. One of them is a Kenmore that even when closed up is the size of most when they are open. It opens up further and is supported by a "gate leg". It's about 48" X 48" open. Craziest thing I ever saw. I use it behind the sofa!
Wanted to redo a treadle but , man oh man., they are big!

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. It was the oval cabinet. Obviously original going by the poor condition of the finish.

My FW cabinet is near perfect. I don't know if I've seen one in better condition. I figured $200 for the machine (also in very nice condition) and $800 for the cabinet. $900 for one in not nice condition is on the high side. But still, absolutely NOT worth the price from a usability standpoint - it's only for collectability, and collectors are going to want the best, and not pay much for the others.

I found the listing. Yes it's a little high IMO but they will probably get close to what they're asking. If I ever get to have one built it's going to be maple.

Sounds like my house! Sewing machines and sewing machine cabinets everywhere! I recently moved into a new home and decided I was going to confine most of them to one room...didn't work...they're slowly finding their way back out again.
