Default Singer featherweight 221 not stitching

Can't understand why my featherweight is not stitching. Motor running and belt running ok - at times sounds different but basically not stitching. Any help/suggetions would be greatly appreciated. Tried to read up but didn't find anything to help with the problem - otherwise, it looks like I'll have to take it to get repaired and checked out. Thank you.

Are you sure you have it threaded correctly? Right to left...hope this is it.

You have to hold the bobbin case by the latch and wiggle it in very carefully. If it isn't seated correctly all you get is a mess! Also, check the bobbin area very carefully - use a flashlight - thread can get wound around behind the bobbin race. That's why the one I have never worked right - I finally found the thread and got it out, and now she just hums right along!

Have you cleaned out the bobbin area for lint? If you didn't get that little wire thing in properly then it won't sew.

is the needle bar going up and down? Did you loosen the center of the wheel to fill a bobbin and forget to tighten it?

Thanks all for your answers but I decided to bring it into the shop to have it checked out. I had the needle threaded correctly and checked for lint, etc. I appreciate all your assistance.

Another thing to always check, the "finger" on the shuttle needs to be in the slot by the feed dogs. I am amazed by how many i have seen with this out of position. Good luck!
