The black one is a Singer 201-3. I have the identical machine. This is the model of the 201 that is most commonly found in Canada. This machine is powerful and fast. I bought mine to sew zippers in coveralls and snowmobile suits and it just powers through denim and duc. It sews rings around my Janome 6500 and the feed dogs will drop to let you FM quilt. This is a good machine and is often referred to as the best machine that Singer ever made. It was known as the "dressmakers" special and mine was used to make costumes for a theatre group in Toronto in its previous life.

sooooo disappointed! the japanese "Capitol" that I have been drooling over since the photos came out was just gorgeous - the prettiest machine I have ever seen and totally pristine, not a chip or flake anywhere on her.....

usually machines go for 20-30-50 dollars but this one went for $110 - a young girl sitting with her Grandpa really wanted it and she was going to have it at any price and she got it....hope she loves her and takes good care of her!
(I mean REALLY...a featherweight in the case in very good condition went for $90.00 before Christmas!!!!)

So I am bummed, I don't need it but really wanted it!

...hubby said that this must mean that either a 301 or a Rocketeer must be just over the horizon....after I get one of those I think I will be content with my stable of machines.

....but gosh she was so cute!

LOL! Joann

(didn't wait to see what the Singer went for)

That's a bummer. :-( Buying fabric seems like a nice consolation prize!

I've had that happen for other things. The sentimental bidders will go way up on things at auctions! Don't worry though, there's always another machine just around the corner.
