Thanks for all your input. I passed on the input to my friend. She didn't think it was a "valuable" machine, but I wanted to check first, to make sure she didn't have some rare gem. I prefer these older machines, but I simply can't use another one.

She will probably donate it to goodwill. I hope it will be purchased by someone who is thrilled to find an older machine. Perhaps we will even see a picture posted by the thrilled new owner here on the quilting board.
