Bel Air Imperial Sewing Machine - 1952
#22
Threading: The location of the last thread guide near the needle is usually a clear give away about right to left or left to right needle threading. I believe the 201 is quite unique in how it threads the needle.

my grand daughter bought a bel air imperial model F253647. We need a user manual for it and a place to get the attachments. All the parts of t he machine are here. Can you give me some info on the machine? It does not say occupied japan. The foot pedal is weird It kind of looks like a knee control but has pads on it like they sit on the floor. Does anyone have any info on it?

Not all BelAir machines are light weight. This one is made in occupied Japan. It had no case and was pretty dirty when I got it. It seemed to have not had a lot of use. Then after it was clean it needed a LOT of adjustment in order to work. Once I got everything to work it is a great machine. If you look really hard you can almost see the BelAir decal.

I hope I can load some more pictures of my BelAir - made in occupied Japan on the back of the pillar under the motor. I can remember when people didn't want to buy stuff made in Japan.

My BelAir has the same bobbin area as a Singer 66. The swatch was under the feet. I doubt if the machine was ever used - most damage was from poor storage.
See if picture loads
