Do you really NEED a dining table? How about replacing it with 6-8 cabinets with plywood and a tablecloth over it

My husband and I went to a flea market today. There were two treadle Singers there. One was from 1926 and in very bad/sad shape. The other was from 1915 and in much better shape, but still needed some work to make it functional. That one would have followed me home but we were in a car it wouldn't fit in <sigh>. Maybe next time. This flea market is every Wed.
