Can you help identify??

This is a Singer 201-2, one of the best machines that Singer every made. I have one that had an external European motor to it. I removed the motor and now the machine is in a treadle. It is the smoothest and quietest machine that I have ever used, and it produces the prettiest straight stitch I have ever seen (top and bottom thread). Looks like you are missing the spool pin that sits on top or do you still have that? Go to the Vintage Machine shop on this site and look for Billy's tutorial on cleaning this machine. He may have instructions on how to clean the motor pots which will need to be done(easy to do). If not he can instruct you on how to do it.

Definately worth having cleaned and oiled. Probably will work after that. There is a serial number on the plate on the machine. Check out the Singer web site to learn when it was made. They have a great serial number reference.
The gold is in excellent condition so it appears the machine was never used a lot and seems to have been stored well.
You are very lucky!

I have been reading about the model 201, lately, and everything I've read says that it is a favorite of those who own one. Get her fired up and she how she does  !!!!
