One more comment to make about using more "advanced" solvents. Remember that once the machine is loose you want to put OIL in those places and the solvents must be 100% gone or your oil will get broken down just like the gunky oil did (only easier)

I certainly clicked some stupid preference for a mistake, and I was going to lose all your messages!
It seems to see many Toms with a turpentine can!
I could go before to this link, but I am completely
from this night with cast iron baby crying. I sleep a very little...
now I'm going to think about all suggested products. the right oil.... this old oil was the worst I see until now.
I tell you what I used, that I just had at home: svitol, that is similar to wd 40. and this time didn't work as ever
nitrodiluent that is very strong, not good for kids!, ethilic alcool, and a little singer oil. metal wool, and a peximum make up brush, but good for this job
and last a lot of benzine for car mixed to gasoleum for a mistake, I have 10 liters....
My friend Paolo disassembled some parts , and you had to hear my shrieks for the terror of break something
however all went well, and now all the little company is bathing in a benzine glass.
but something other mistery came into the limelight: why the two shafts does not communicate?

This is my "go to" for all stuck stuff. Its called "goo Gone" . You can find it just about anywhere. I've tried the off brands and they just don't have the push to get things UnStuck. Hope this helps you.

That's a truly beautiful machine and I think you're on the right track. Be patient. It took a long time for that oil to dry and harden, it can take a long time to loosen it up it too. After the solvents have done their job just keep flooding the joints with oil for a few days. that will flush the solvents out of the joints.
