I just had the same issue with the 29-4 I sold to my Apprentice.

We could not get it to stitch reliably no matter what. I took off the needle clamp and found the remains of a needle jammed up inside. A little modern tool magic and it is clear. She sews fantastic and is out of my shop finally!
