Never mind. It just slides off. Didn't think it would be that easy.

Hijacking my own thread slightly. The screw which holds the presser foot lever does not tighten sufficiently to allow the lever to properly lift the presser foot. I suspect that a) the screw threads are stripped, b) it's the wrong screw, or c) both. Does anyone know the proper screw for the lifter or, better yet, have a spare laying around?

that Screw looks fine. It should tighten but still allow the arm to move. Does it?

When you say "does not tighten sufficiently to allow the lever to properly lift the presser foot" you confused me... are you saying that when screwed in and you try to use the lever the screw falls out? or something else...

Yup, when screwed in and you try to use the lever, the screw falls out. This screw doesn't seem long enough to go through the lever and into the hole in the presser foot lifter bar.

can you try to screw it in without the arm in place?

I tried screwing it in without the arm; the screw sits in the hole but won't go far enough in to tighten it.

that sounds like the screw is the wrong one, or the internal threads are stripped, or the screw was longer and part broke off inside. can you get your camera to focus close enough to the hole to see the inside?

At work I have a special latex goo that I pour into holes, let harden than remove. It let's me see the condition and even check the size/pitch of the threads in cases where i am missing a screw for a particular hole. Not sure what to suggest you try...
