Eldredge "B" - finally home!

That Defiance is a very pretty machine. It's a later model than mine, and made after the name change to National. I was specifically after a machine made before the name change.
And the good news - my tucker fits! The bed hole in this machine is in a slightly different location than the National made machine, and it's also a different thread.
But see - it fits!
When I put this on the newer machine, the needle came down smack on top of the tucker bar. This one comes down just in front of the tucker - and it's the needle clamp that does the "pressing".
I was wondering about that extra leverl looking bar in the front, but it fits to hold the front guide firmly against the machine.

The serial number should be stamped on the front - right were the front slide plate goes. The serial number is not on the slide plate with National made machines, like it is for some others.

BTW- you do realize that Defiance is the same machine as your E-BT - just treadle and much prettier? you can tell it's 3/4 size by the way the underbraider plate fits (it would not stick over on a full size machine).
I really should not be interested - as I also have a E-BT, - but this one is oh so pretty ! So if you don't want it - let me know!
I'll cry if no one bids on it

oh my! A 3/4 size New Home just showed up on ebay - and I REALLY want that one! I hate when there are several I want going at the same time!
I know why my husband wanted me to buy that $5,000 Viking quilter - that would have taken ALL my machine money and then I'd be done, but I'd rather buy 50 - $100 machines instead!

Good luck!
I'll feel better passing on it if it goes to someone on the board - then I can be like an "aunt" instead of "mom" and that is almost as good.
I'm going to jump on the other one - it's a bit more $$ but it's only in Iowa so should make it here safely.

question ismac needle chart says National Defiance is 15*1 needle? Standard Defiance is 20*1, this is National, correct. Lastly, What did I just do?? buy a SM no means of propulsion....it's getting worse
