my featherweight is making a noise when you first start up the smooths out. i oiled her and greased the motor.
greasing the motor helped a bit. what do i try next?

Do you need a new belt? When was the last time it got a really good cleaning?

Did you get the grease pots really full? Did you check the bobbin case for lint?

THE BObbin case is clean, new belt, grease pots looked really full. today they don't look as full and grinding seems to have stopped today. am regreasing today. thanks
