Nitza, keep watching on craigslist, yard sales, your local sewing machine repairman, flea markets. Tell everyone you know that you are looking for one and to let you know if they find one. I saw one go for about $200 on e-bay a little while ago. Keep watching, and a little prayer doesn't hurt either. Good luck!

I just got my first one on eBay for (get ready) $113. She came yesterday, is a 1947, excellent condition, even the case is perfect. She's got such a funny bunch of treasures in the case, I am going through the time warp with them! I love to see all of the things people keep in their sewing cases--a key labeled with a note stating that "I don't know what this key is for." There's a folded sheet of paper with a machine needle sticking through it. On it is written-machine needle 80/16-bent. I am just having a ball going through this stuff. Now I'm going to give her an oil bath and spa treatment and a good meal of grease and we'll be on our way. Her name is Emma.

mimibug,
What a find! I hope I find one like that someday - my budget is $150, which makes it harder. Congrats!

I hope you can find one, Ellietow! I've been looking for a year. There is one locally that the lady has reduced to $200, but when she sent me the email yesterday to tell me that she had reduced it, I told her that mine had just come eBay and was wonderful, but if she decided to reduce hers some more, to let me know. It's a 1951 centennial edition. I am still going to keep looking for one for my stepmother, but want to find another one in the same condition an price range as the one I got!
