From my understanding, the 15K26 shortens or lengthen the stitch length differently from other 15 class machines. I found that info in the middle column on page 2 of this pdf -- http://www.tfsr.org/pub/technical_in...achine_top.pdf
"To alter the stitch length on the 15K machine, first loosen the screw then move upwards to increase or downwards to decrease; except on the 15K26 model when it operates in the opposite way."
Since I was out in the Shed looking for something else, I checked, and my IF, 15-1 and two of my 15-30's operate by moving it UP to decrease stitch length and DOWN to increase stitch length. I have at least two more 15-30's but did not check them.
Now we need someone with a 15K30 to check and let us know if there machine does operate the other direction.

Got to thinking I have that 15 RAF machine, so I checked it, and it's opposite from all my earlier 15-30 machines.
It's an AD machine, so US made, but mid 30's, so one of the last of the 15-30's before the 15-91 came out.
So it's possible the change in stitch length mechanism is a Date issue and not a Model issue.

And I have learned a lot by having it. I learned how to resize pics and post them. I told my niece about my machine and she asked for a quilt. Purple and hunter green. Got most of my fabric - need one more piece. Can't wait to get started on it.
