What a shame. A few "quick pics" of the machine before you leave it should do the trick! And make sure to do this with the storekeeper's knowledge. Who can you trust anymore??

X8 No excuse for this. He has the plate or put it on another one that he had and thought he could get away with it.

A similar thing happened to me when I took my Pfaff to be serviced in New Orleans. It was my first time there but he was a Pfaff dealer. I did not open the machine till a few days later back home in Baton Rouge. Well a part was missing. I had to phone and the said "I see a part like that here at the desk "It might be yours !!!!!! I asked them to kindly mail my piece to me. NEVER will I return there and they did not even offer to show me a new machine when I brought mine in !!!! Customer Service ?????? Manners????? Hugs to you.

Is the sewing machine a 15 clone? If so, Sew-Classic may have a replacement.

You can also contact Sew-Classic, Jenny is very good at responding

I would have been hopping mad at that shop and the LSM.

Well, we found out a couple of things. First, my sister had her machine out of the cabinet and in a box when it was transported to the LSM guy. She is positive the slide plate was there when she took it in. That it was not there when she picked it up (because the guy was supposed to check out the machine and call her to let her know what was wrong and how much, and she never heard from him). That's the reason she went back and picked up her machine. My son did locate a slide plate, but I assure you my sister will never go back to that guy again! Unfortunately, she did not take pictures of the machine when she left it. The machine was in good working order when she quit using it 20+ years ago, and my son took the machine apart and gave it a good cleaning and lubrication while we were there. The machine looks almost as good as new now! It has a beautiful stitch!

Personally, if it had been me, I would have lowered the boom on him and his business. Since it's my sister's machine now, I couldn't come on too strong! I still think he needs a swift kick in the rear! LOL! Thanks everyone for all your input! I appreciate it very much!
