How do you suppose people arrive at their asking prices?
They see something on eBay.....asking price not selling and then they double or triple that. I just saw locally a 99 not even in a case they were asking $850 for. Said they were going on EBay for $1,000. I contacted the seller with some education and suggested they drop their price closer to $50 if their true intent was to sell it. To their credit they did. It is still listed at $50 3 weeks later

OK Usually there is nothing sort of funny on Goodwill's auction. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-16154284.html

Hand Crank??? This one did tickle my funny bone sort of... It took me a while to find the tomato pin sticker - I wonder if they think the bobbins are original? I didn't know 128's came with redeye decals either.
I would buy this one if it wasn't for the drive...

"Vintage Hand-cranked Singer 128k V.S. Sewing Machine. Manufactured in 1936. Includes Tomato Pin sticker, and Singer Transparent Sewing Machine Bobbins"

I saw that one. Someone robbed the motor off of it. The screw and belt are still there. You have to crank it by hand. The 128 part is probably a mis-read serial#. I know I'm about 1 in 3 on getting that right. At least they're trying.
    I like the pinsticker.

The ones that get me are the ads with 6 pictures and not a single one are of the machine from the front.
Maybe I've been staring at machines too much. I see a bunch of nice machines on there and I don't feel a strong urge to buy any of them. This one has me intrigued though.

    Any info on it?

The one I have is a POJ - there is no barrier between the bobbin and gears - the gears have a stripped set screw - other than that it might be a nice machine........

It seem to appeal to people...mainly women...in their 30's to mid 40's. Kind of like those who will pay tons of $$$ for a piece of furniture with the paint flaking off...I never could understand the appeal but that's what they like or rusty pieces of metal to hang in their homes...
