Holy cow! I looked up the P2 foot for the Janome. Some sites have it for as much as $70!! Don't pay that for it!!
Canadian dealer cost - which is often very close to US retail - on it is under $10, so there will be deals on it.

...or could be that they were removed for the same reason you're discovering here, that the roller foot doesn't fit comfortably with it

No way! Not including shipping I think I paid $13 for mine. Talk about a mark up!!

On another note I've been trying to make it a point to get to know fellow posters since I've joined QB, reading a few blogs time permitting. It's been (depending on the post) inspiring, informative, touching and amusing what with human strength, resilience and Beeblebrox references. Cheers to the bloggers!
