for a replacement belt, we used a leather shoelace.

I just brought home a Montgomery treadle machine that belonged to my Grandmother. The key was inside one of the drawers. The end of the key is 3-sided (like a triangle) but the tip is blunt. Maybe look in some of the new screwdriver kits and see if any of them would work.

Congrats! You are going to love that treadle!
Some folks in the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop, here on the Quilting Board, chat about their vintage Whites and can be of help to you. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-43881-1213.htm

I treadle all my vintage machines, use them to make my quilts, but I don't own a White.

Come on over to chat with us. Glenn is very good at restoring cabinets, and has posted an excellent tutorial on how to. Billy has an excellent tutorial on cleaning up vintage machines. And the rest of us just chatter away with our discoveries.

I always say that the vintage machine finds us. So, don't be surprised if your collection grows.
