I used an old nail - kind of like they use for horse shoeing. You can find them at the hardward store (Ace?) Four sided and of course taper to a point. LOL

My Grandmother had one just like that when I was a toddler.
I loved to watch her sew all my dresses (made from feed sacks saved by her sister) the treddle was so fastanating. :-)

Some of the old curio cabinets keys work on the locks of other items.

Congratulations! It is just like the one my Grandmother gave me when she bought her first electric in 1954. It sewed really nice. Enjoy your prize.

I agree with the lock smith suggestion - that's his business. He can probably have those "puppies" open in no time. If he doesn't have a master key of some kind, he can probably giggle something in the keyhole.
Save yourself the frustration of researching for a key, or worse yet, damaging the wood trying to do it yourself.

I think you are missing the post where she said she got the drawers open.

Oh my! Aren't you lucky! And to follow you all the way to Buckeye! I'm sure I have seen it several on craig's list, because I daydream and drool over the treadles all the time! (I live in Sun City). Congratulations and enjoy!
