    It is on Craigslist.
It is a Singer #66 in a cherry case.
It has some accessories but the
    daughter know nothing about sewing.

    I can see it tomorrow.

Did you check to see what ebay prices were? Ebay tends to be high, but gives you a general idea.

There's one on ebay now with a case, not great looking, that bidding starts at $49.00 and you can buy it now for $100.00. There was another without a case with bidding starting at $29.00.

What are they asking for it? What kind of shape is it in? Are all the parts there? Manual? Attachments? Is it in a case or a cabinet? If it's electric, what condition is the wiring in?

    Standard answer:
It's worth no more than you're willing to pay for it...

I was just looking at CL in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There is one on there for $1000.00. They must have heard how popular the machines are and are trying to make a killing. I couldn't believe my eyes. For some reason there are several antique machines on CL today. I like to check every few days.

If they know nothing about sewing and want to unload it, why are you suspicious? Take someone with you.

It swings both ways...sometimes folks that know nothing about sewing don't realize that someone would pay more for an "old sewing machine". Others think they have a gold mine and want a fortune.

I agree with Candace...take someone with you and meet in a public place. Give them the $10 and run with that machine!

Agree...for 10.00 it's worth meeting in a public place. I did that when I found a 301A in cabinet on Craigs list...I wouldn't meet at their home and they had no problem meeting me in the Hm Depot parking lot...Got the 301A in mint condition in cabinet cheap...

I did meet them and bought it.

    It is full of dust.
has been sitting for quit some time,
but I did get it to run.

Cherry cabinet is nice and there is a box of accessories.

Will work on it now to clean it up.

    THANKS for all the input.
