Those don't appear very often, I've had my eye out for a few years now (it was the machine my mother had) and if I could find one at reasonable cost, I'd bring it home.

Well, it was not a dream, the 301 is still sitting on my kitchen table! I just broke into a big smile when I walked in here this morning. Too bad I have to go to work, I want to play! From a quick look over, all it will need is to be dusted, oiled, and greased.

Cari - it must of been the light, it has the black rimmed badge, but it is still an earlier model. NA017xxx I've never had a machine with a leading zero before

That's a wonderful gift. Wow! Definitely a lucky duck and I'd want to stay home and play as well. And your bags are lovely. No wonder the gifter wanted one. Enjoy your new baby.

You are indeed a lucky lady! That 301 is one of the best machines Singer ever made. I think the previous owner recognized you as someone who would treasure a machine that she had treasured. Enjoy your special machine.

You must be floating. What a generous gift. The machine is beautiful and traded fairly for your weaving.

Wow! What a gift! I have a sewing desk just like that one that my Dad made my Mom back in the '50s... I went to house we all grew up in & brought it back to my home. But was shocked when I opened it up--- no machine!! Someone had helped themselves.... But I have the desk...
