The ISMACS site doesn't have detailed records of the W serials, but it does give a start date of W 1500000 and up at 1954 (Bridgeport). Very sleek machine!

If you call Singer (1-800-4singer) with the s/n, they can tell you the model and birthdate of your machine. I did that today and found out that I have a 128 that was born on May 26, 1925 - she's a beauty, decals are almost pristine, will have to look at her closer when I get home tonight! Will have to get s/ns of my treadle, 301A and 221 and call again tomorrow so I will know their birthdates too.

Well I called Singer, and was on hold for most of my lunch break and only moved up to 12th in line on hold. So I sent them an E-mail, we shall see what they have to say about a born on date.

Second, is anyone interested in seeing a video of her spinning over on the treadle? Maybe that way some one can tell me if my hook clicking sounds normal.

Does it have a little groove the bobbin thing sets in under the throat plate? If so I bet it is normal to an extent.
