Count me in on this one. Over the last 3 weeks, I have "found" bought and rescued (well actually purchased at garage sales) 3 vintage machines (two 66's and one 201) and one from an Aunt that needed some loving care. I have been fixing them up (rewire, clean, oil, lube) and then they purr like kittens. Friends have been buying them - not making any money off of it but am putting the lost "children" back into sewing for people who only wanted a machine that went forward and reverse.

Well, Dear Weirdos, I count you all as my friends, because if I didn't have weird friends, I wouldn't have friends at all. My collection is near 40. A combo of treadles, vintage electric in cabinets, and about half vintage portables. All used for teaching kids how to sew. (correction - 3 treadles waiting for cleaning and new belts, one electric clone which needs to have pinched wires replaced. Will get them functioning before summer ends.)

(Are there sanity pills for spouses who don't quite understand?)

I wonder what the people that call you weird for collecting sewing machines collect.

Believe me you are not weird!!!

You should see all the golf clubs & golf balls we have around our house, just because my husband plays golf.

That's just what people who don't know say about us. I have a machine, that uses cams to make different stitches. Just finished cleaning and oiling. When the user manual arives by mail, it will go on line as the machine I use for my next project. Welcome to the group.
