Easier if you can find it, yes. The music wire was hard for us to find even at the hobby shops. It was probably the biggest one in Edmonton that actually had it. All of the rest were either unsure of what it was, or knew what it was but had never seen it. I like knowing that we have some wire here now that works, so if I break another spring I can put DH to work.

Yes, it's fixed.
I ordered the little spring from Sew-Classic. Part # SCBW15366 on the page I linked to on page 2. It arrived today and it about 5 minutes the bobbin winder was back together and working good.
The spring fit perfectly, no muss, no fuss.
So if the little thread guide spring on your old bobbin winder is broken, the one Sew-Classic sells is the one to get.
