Quick question, do you think the metal/pewter is strong enough to be used as a gear. Like making a replica od a nylon gear within say a singer touch and sew type machine? I recently bought a singer 328 k its all metal except for one part that holds the motor in place. I was wondering if it was strong enough to work.

Funny you should ask because I was considering trying to make a gear copy for testing.
Brass or better yet Bronze, would be much better. I will be doing a reproduction next week using the clay/sand casting method and casting a bronze part. Photos will be posted here of course.
