I'm naming her Paddy, as it was the luck of the Irish (and the good Lord) that brought her to me. We ate breakfast at an Irish restaurant for our anniversary today, then wandered over the the consignment shop. I'm so excited I just had to share.

I just found a free downloadable manual for her, but I would like some advice on where I can find parts for a reasonable price and any other info that would be helpful to me.

Also, if anyone can tell me what part has been broken off when you look at the right side of her, it's the spot directly in front of the hole that the belt comes up into from the back and whether or not it is critical for running this beautiful machine. Thanks in so much in sharing with my news. I look forward to being able to use her soon.
    I AM IN LOVE!!!!!

Honestly I have no idea as to what that was...... :hunf: But it should not hurt the performance of the machine at all. And I love the Parlor Cabinet!!!

Paddy was a very appropriate name, so close to St. Patrick's Day. Very pretty and the cabinet also. Billy is the expert on here, check all his postings on here.

Oh guess what everyone? I found some additional goodies in the lower drawer of the cabinet when I finally figured out how to open it - it was also a bit stuck.

Inside was a brand new looking box of Singer Attachments that included many different feet, a machine Manual in very good condition and a hand written note from this machine's first owner with the birthdate, etc. of the machine. Finding that note REALLY took me back in time! Holding each different attachment and looking them up in the Manual trying to match each one to their description was like going through a time warp. Wow, what a rush!

I learned today that the treadle belt wasn't broken at all, that it was often a belt was seen with a staple holding the two ends together. Hubby got it back on track and I took my first few pedals on the treadle. WOW WOW WOW! Now, I'm totally in love!!!! :-D

Does anyone know what the little yellow thing is in the middle of all the attachments? It is just over 3/4" long, about 1/2" wide and has two little windows on it where a number shows through. The numbers can be changed by turning each end of this thing.

Goodies I found in the lower drawer

    What is the yellow thingy???

    Any idea what this is??

Is it some kind of row counter, perhaps like knitters use?

I vote for a row counter for knitting. I have one very much like it in my kit bag for sock knitting. Love the cabinet, great find on the machine!

Maybe a stitch counter for knitting?

Yep, that's it exactly!! Thanks, mystery solved! I do not knit, so had no idea if it was something for my machine or not. :D
