I saw a white FW at a flea market in TX for $625. I hope you didn't have to pay that much.

Macybaby's advice about drapes and a blind hemmer is spot on. Until you find the blind hemmer, there is a way to blind hem with a straight stitch machine. Granted it takes longer, but it is doable and successful. My husband laughs when he hears me singing, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, sidestep, 1, 2, etc." Something for everyone.

If anyone is interested, please IM me. I am delighted and honored to share.

Pat

Happy Birthday and lucky you. My mother had a white feather weigh and in 1996 I let her give it to her cleaning lady who wanted it. I had sewed on it alot and really wish I had it now. Have been looking and maybe someday. Enjoy your sweet Gwyn. Let us see what you sew with it.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It has been a great birthday! Wish I had known about the FW when I was a preteen. Would have been fun to have one instead of dragging out my mothers Husqvarna that was always in it's case and setting it up every time when we wanted to sew was a real pain...it sewed well though.

I paid $349.00 and that includes shipping. I am just praying he packs it well. He didn't have any other sewing related stuff on his ebay so I think he just came by this machine and didn't really know much about FW's. Will take pics once it gets here.
