My New Eye Candy

Parts are easy enough to find, and yes, it's most likely been a treadle in it's early life...you may find a spot for a motor mount tho, in which case you can turn it into an electric machine.
She's very pretty, and while the price might have still been a bit high FOR ME, I don't think you were burned either!
Watch the antique/second hand stores for a treadle cabinet for her, you can usually pick them up for less than $75, depending on the shape they're in. If you do, make sure that the treadle parts are all there, and that the pedal turns the wheel.
You can have someone make you a wooden base for her, and you can purchase hand cranks that will fit over the handwheel.
Looks to me like the bobbin carriage is there...it's a drop in bobbin.
Congrats on your new baby...whatcha gonna name her?

I tend to agree with everyone else, you got an excellent deal! The decals are just great.
I found a "Free No.5" the other day that was in a cabinet at a local thrift store. Ugh!! The cabinet was in horrid condition but the machine was even worse than that, totally froze up and rusted beyond belief. They wanted $120-FIRM, according to the tag. I told one of the gals there I would give them $20 for the whole thing.
Well, you'd have thought I told her I wanted it for nothing. She got very angry with me and started ranting in spanish. I just shook my head and walked away laughing. "$120", are you kidding me?

I love the red eyes! I have two now and am always looking for another with even better decals than the ones I have. She's a beaut! Those dang stitchplates are usually missing on this machine because they are such a pain to get back on. You need a flathead screwdriver to to it.

Oooooh I wish i knew how to post pics. My son bought me this exact machine at a garage sale for my birthday a couple years ago. It was so beautiful-I shined it all up and it sits up on one of my kitchen cabinets for decoration- she's a beauty

Looks just like the one I bought at an auction last week-end, except your decals are in much better shape than mine which, on the arm are almost gone, part of the S and most of the G, part of the E and a bit of the R are gone the I and N are totally gone and on top, the whole Singer logo is gone. As it is a back mount with only the basic foot, I am putting my plain Black Bertha 66 in the cabinet as she is a side mount with lots of attatchments. Need to put a new belt on too and then will be off to the races. I got the machine in the cabinet for a $50 bid.
