Wow! What a collection! I'd love to have a featherweight and a 99!

You will love it. You will be able to do FMQ with that one. Enjoy.

Can you free motion quilt with the 15-99?

I don't know anything about the 15. You can not FMQ with the 99. The feeddogs do not drop in that machine. You can FMQ if you buy the attachment that covers the feeddogs and I believe then you could.

Hey, I just finished a king sized quilt that I free motion quilted on my 1951 Featherweight. No, the feed dogs do not drop. BUT, ......drum roll...... you can have the same effect by putting the stitch length at 0, no forward or back motion, and go from there. You will have to lighten the pressure on the presser foot, and probably ease up on your top tension, and you may have to adjust the bobbin tension, but I'm here to tell you that it can be done. I think you could do the same on the 99.
BTW, I do have the feed dog cover, and I prefer to work without it.
