ok, fine, here are the Weed pics...
getting started

minimizing my error rate with the tape....
I cleaned the slide off the unit, (1st pass, needs more)

Removed needle plate screw, needle plate, needle, presser foot.
(I put the screw back in the presser bar to reduce the chance of loss, i did the same with the needle plate micro screw after the pic)
closer

here are the pics of the foot. The pedal showed up for the old Patcher so that absorbed my time last night.

SteveH how on earth are you getting the rust off so quickly. Are you using that "electric shock" thingy way? Sorry, lol. Can't remember what it actually is or the name. Just remember watching a video where they hooked it up to electric current. Seemed slick but not something I wanted to try.

Brasso and a brass bristle brush. I use 0000 Steel wool once the crud is 100% gone to restore the finish.
(this foot is about 95% clean at this point)
I do have an Electro-plater which can have the polarity reversed and be used as an Electro-Cleaner. But i do not use it to derust. I am too concerned with metal loss. Same reason I do not use mild acid's for cleaning. The Brasso has been around almost as long as the machines I use it on...
Sure looks like a cording foot to me. Now to find a boat shuttle and bobbin for it...
