As the old saying goes 'Life's too short'. You get a treadle out of a friendly hello every now and then. Not to mention this may take a huge weight off your wife's shoulders. Even if you don't realize it is there.

maybe you have finally reached a common bond---sewing machines.

Can't wait to see your newly acquired sewing machine.

Then she tells my wife she's got and old decrepit treadle in her garage. It was given to her by an elderly lady who was moving into a retirement home. The head and cabinet are in rough shape and probably not worth anything but parts. All she knows about is it uses shuttle bobbins. Then she she asks; "Do you think Joe might be interested in taking it on"? Ummmmm, do cats meow??? Heck yes.
So, sometime in the near future a mystery treadle might just come home.

I might have to start getting along with that SIL.

Seems like you might need to try and at least be civil to SIl. lol. show us pics. of the mystery machine if you get it to come to your house.

Well, I suppose I could try to be civil. But remember this country had a civil war.

Family spats are sort of like that.

I have a SIL who doesn't like me. I have no idea why. The only reason we have been able to figure out is that I am pretty friendly with her sister who she doesn't even speak to. She had a wedding shower that of course she invited me to, she wanted a gift. I went but I told another SIL I was going to have to start something. SHe told me to behave When I walked in I gave her a huge hug like she was my long lost friend. She didn't know what to do. It was awesome. Just walk in and give your SIL a big hug and shock her. It was priceless. I hugged her as I left too.
