need help, please
I have acquired a singer 31-15 that is in pretty rough shape. I have been cleaning it up and have replaced a few things on it that were broken. It is now moving freely. I ordered a new thread tensioner as the old one was broken. I do not remember how to put in on the machine. I did this a couple of years ago with my DGD's Kenmore, but I have slept since then and do not remember what I did

They are like any other tension. Here is a go to manual: http://www.tfsr.org/publications/tec...achine_manual/

It looks like others have you covered. All I can add is that you need to do it at a time when you are feeling rested and patient. I've had trouble re-assembling tensioners also. It might help if you put the machine on its back so you aren't also fighting gravity.
