Oiling a Singer Stylist 534

I just bought a Singer Stylist 534 and got the manual with it too. The manual only says to oil areas behind the dace plate, but that seems odd to me. Shouldn't I have to oil any of the gears?

You grease gears, not oil. Use Triflow grease on the gears.
