<snip>"has all parts except one drawer pull."<snip>.

Please!......the slide plate might be in the drawer but they can't tell us that the hinged top is in a drawer too-LOL. $400 for a common machine in a plain cabinet with unknown decals and condition due to lousy picture? I'm not bighting although I've considered sending an email to educate the seller.

I'd love one, but that's out of my budget ATM.

I'd love to have this one. Would be wonderful for quilting. No more fussy computerized machine.

if anybody wants an all metal parts machine for a measly $100 and NO it is NOT my ad.

Machine doesn't look half bad, but after all that noise about ALL METAL PARTS she shows a picture of a box of plastic cams!

At a 1/4 mill for a mid-century 99k in a ho hum cabinet, I'd want his house and vehicles and tires with the machine. So much for the American dream. ;)

amcatanzaro 02-09-2014 06:42 PM

Runs like a sewing machine!

Take a good look at the gear attached to the handwheel, Steve. ;) Almost all metal. That gear is a fiber gear. 15-91 and 201-2 both.

Does the 201-3 have the fiber gear as well? I bought one, made in the UK.

No. The 201-3 uses an external motor/belt drive system like a lot of other sewing machines.

SteveH 02-10-2014 07:52 AM

I have to check my spam folder daily if I have a listing up on CL. CL stuff goes there a LOT even with filters to allow it...

ArchaicArcane 02-10-2014 08:10 AM

A lot of ISPs are also blocking incoming AND outgoing email lately as well.

The spam thing is why I use a "garbage" email address when responding to those ads. Often people don't respond when the item is sold because they're tired of all the emails and too stu.... lazy to take the ad down.

Monroe 02-10-2014 01:07 PM

I actually put in my CL ads that I won't reply to all emails due to all the Spammers harvesting contact info. If the posting is gone- so is the item. It was getting crazy.

miriam 02-10-2014 01:26 PM

Remember this machine from Etsy? It had been priced at 10,001.00. Well- the price has gone up. Better hurry!

QuiltingVagabond 02-10-2014 06:16 PM

What exactly would constitute a "serious offer" when the suggested price is ridiculous?

If it had said "Serious inquiries only", I would have emailed and asked them "$895? Are you serious?"

" it is shocking to see such a preserved cabinet" I have to say the price is far more shocking. To be fair, they do warn you it's the most expensive (i.e. over-priced) in the world. But it's got real "petina" in it, whatever that is (not in the dictionary) it has to be unique. It's also one of those rare model 66 with the even rarer missing slide plate. Wow! :D

How do you think this person (and all the others) come up with the ridiculous asking price???? Where would they find any of these machines selling for this price to base their asking price? The shame of it is that if someone knowledgeable tries to educate them on an appropriate price, the sellers usually become defensive and sometimes use language that makes you want to ask them if they kiss their mother with that filthy mouth.

amcatanzaro 02-10-2014 07:55 PM

Offer them 89.50.
