eBaym, of course. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SINGER-SEWIN...item2a356356f5

but at least they're not charging extra for shipping!!

gsbuffalo 01-03-2014 02:44 AM

wow that is an over estimate on pricing. unbelievable. and I am sure no one has bided yet.

LuvQuiltin 01-03-2014 03:06 AM

This seller has a 100% positive feedbacks with over 300 ratings. I can't for the life of my figure why he thinks this is worth that kind of money. Is it full of drugs? Seriously.....this is beyond bizarre! None of his other listings are out of the norm. This has to be a joke or maybe a means to draw potential buyers for his other items?

oldsewnsew 01-03-2014 05:35 AM

I think you're right. Clever...

Vridar 01-03-2014 06:23 AM

Nice looking 99K. However...
i like the cabinet finish. Don't see many in that shape. Surely a refinish job.

oldsewnsew 01-03-2014 06:47 AM

platinum flecks in the varnish...

amcatanzaro 01-03-2014 06:48 AM

There's gold in them there tables.

I've often wondered if covert operatives communicate with each other via CL posts and eBay listings

mighty 01-03-2014 07:56 AM

Now that is funny!!!!

My name is Michael Westen and I used to be a spy...

vmaniqui 01-03-2014 09:07 AM

I think it comes with the car in the picture. Or probably he's selling the shed too. Even if it includes the car and shed it's still overpriced ( ha ha ha) now that ad is so totally funny. 250$ maybe or too many zeros.

KLO 01-03-2014 12:29 PM

I think someone must have misplaced that decimal point or at least I hope so. And when I checked there were 25 people watching that auction. Maybe just for entertainment?

Cecilia S. 01-03-2014 12:37 PM

I think it is Miriam in disguise again, having a good giggle. Miriam? ;-)

barny 01-03-2014 01:06 PM

They are going to hand deliver it to anyone who buys it. [By foot]

miriam 01-03-2014 03:32 PM

Oh yup that's me alright

wilburness 01-03-2014 03:38 PM

Reading thru this I thought it was Miriam. sounds like her. it is really code that she will charge $250,000 for her next hit. needs a new sledge hammer and they are not cheap!! LOL

Oh you think I ruined my sledge hammer on the crush and sew? It's still good. I only need to sell a few of those $25,000 machines and I can retire preferably some where warm.

amyjo 01-03-2014 04:13 PM

I sent this guy an email asking him where he got his figure for his machine. Said it isn't worth much for than 30.00, don't think he will answer anyway. I checked out his store and can't see anything fantastic in it.

joobee 01-03-2014 07:18 PM

LOL, my first thought was that the seller must have a buyer already and that buyer will expect the "real" item to be packed in with the machine. I would love to know why the seller came up with that price.

Good luck on both counts! It will be in the 20's here next week! Maybe Key West would work?

SERIOUSLY? on all counts...

sharin'Sharon 01-04-2014 07:32 PM

If It is going to be taken apart and the legs are going to be removed before shipping, will they be included with the machine?

amcatanzaro 01-05-2014 08:35 AM

Darn, it's been flagged for removal already.

miriam 01-05-2014 08:40 AM

They had some kind of ad for free snow. They said it was on the curb and they said not to come to the door because you probably wouldn't be able to find the door. It was pretty funny. Right now it is very pretty out... nearly white out with big fluffy stuff coming straight down.....

GreyQ 01-05-2014 09:19 AM

So this means my vintage machines are my new retirement plan and I can trade one for a tropical island.

Well I certainly hope so... :D:D:D

BETTY62 01-05-2014 10:12 AM

Do you think they would come down a few dollars?

amcatanzaro 01-05-2014 01:09 PM

I'll take that. It decided to be 38 degrees here and we're getting that as rain, followed by the freeze tonight. It's going to be interesting I'm sure.

ArchaicArcane 01-05-2014 03:17 PM

Oh if only shipping weren't so prohibitive! I'd send you all of ours! Worst winter we've had in ages, there's more than 18" in the front yard, and there are snow banks on our property taller than me. Last night we were -51F (yes, minus fifty one) with the wind chill (-33F without) and we're warming up by Wednesday, in time for some freezing rain too.

miriam 01-05-2014 03:26 PM

Oh Tammi, that gave me deja vu so bad... I used to have to walk to school in that stuff. Northern Wisconsin is cold. This is bad snow for around here though. We are still getting some. It is suppose to go to negitive numbers tonight. I just hope the electric stays on. We are illequipped here.

oldsewnsew 01-05-2014 09:32 PM

I love how the weather guessers here, always give for the extreme low, someplace like Minot N.D. is -25, or some other northern US city. We think "how awfully cold that must be!" forgetting entirely about our northern neighbor! BRRR!!!!

ArchaicArcane 01-06-2014 12:55 PM

Luckily we climbed pretty steadily about a degree or two an hour since the night before last. We're finally back up to a more "reasonable" 16F, with above freezing temps expected for Thursday. Of course the road conditions will change for the worse accordingly as well. One thing about -51F, .... the roads aren't particularly slippery, and it doesn't snow.

I'm always so surprised to see how often the power goes out for days in the states. I can't name a single incident in my remembered lifetime where that's happened here. The most I can ever recall is hours. I think there's a chance the power was out longer in parts of Edmonton after the F4 (rumored possible F5) tornado that hit here in '87. I wasn't here for it, I was visiting on the coast.

We even modify our wet T-Shirt contests accordingly apparently: http://www.theweathernetwork.com/new...rairies/19004/

I lol'ed. :)

huntannette 01-06-2014 12:58 PM

wow...hmmm makes me think ....I might want to sell mine at that price ;)

i know. i feel for you. they said it will be the coldest weather everywhere. we're about 48deg here and yet we're all complaining, not knowing how worst it is in some other areas. and we've got a little bit of sunshine too. stay warm guys.

something different

http://eugene.craigslist.org/tls/4260672051.html
heavy duty niche market...but $3K!?

miriam 01-08-2014 09:13 AM

That isn't all that out of line for industrial stuff

amcatanzaro 01-08-2014 09:22 AM

I found this amusing, I assume a shop closed down locally. I know they aren't the same model, but there's a deal to be had here.
