manicmike - those pictures are doing nothing to help my thinking that I really should cut back a bit . . . that would be so, so fun to go spend a week looking at the machines!

What a great article. Thank you for sharing it. I am sure that most of us have a love of vintage machines. I have 2 Singer treadles one authenticated to 1906), a Featherweight Singer 221 and a Singer 401. I don't think I will get to 400 machines. That pocket machine is fascinating. There is a family museum here in Colorado that have a washing machine collection that is great to see. Your trip to their home should be wonderful.

That is a fantastic collection!
If you see that the machines in pics 4339, 4423, and 4440 mysteriously disappear one evening, you will find them in my collection!!! lol Thank you for sharing! |

I have REALLY got to stop! I almost gave in, thought I could just buy a WW8 and an early boat shuttle White (I love the look of them) and then have those two that take Boye Needles I don't yet have a machine for.
But the whole reason I sent the early attachments off for both was because I told myself I don't want machines from that early an era! Though if I can find a non-boat shuttle machine that take the Davis (White) Long needle, then maybe I'll rethink they WW8, because that one fits my Rotary collection, and that's a different collection from the Boye Shuttle collection. Wait - did I just admit to a third collection? At least I barely got started on the "dash board" machine collection before I went too far. Yea, I admit I have a problem - is that the first step to a cure? |
