Minnesota treadle sewing machine
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Leach, I just purchased a minnesota treadle sewing machine from our local goodwill store . I have looked for a serial number but haven't found one. The only thing I found was a A on the bottom of the machine. Can someone give me some information please.

Welcome, Elizabeth. What kind of information are you wanting? Does the A have a number after it? A picture would help, I believe that some serial numbers are on the front slide plate and some in the bed underneath the front slide plate.
There are many threads here on Quilting Board about Minnesota sewing machines. There were several different Minnesota models which were sold by Sears and five versions of the Model A. https://www.quiltingboard.com/8414961-post27.html That is in the thread https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t276831.html which has several good posts in it about Minnesota machines other than the opening poster's. Some others include: https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t295723.html https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t312134.html https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t307699.html https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t261883.html We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...p-location.jpg Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
